Car Insurance Basics in Under 1 Minute

What is Car Insurance? What coverage do I need to protect myself? Where do I start looking?

Car Insurance can get confusing. We are here to make it simple. This video can teach you the basics of Car Insurance in under a minute.

Liability Coverage – Liability coverage pays for losses you cause others. Whether that is an accident that is your fault, if you injury someone else while in your car, or if you damage someones property along the way, Liability coverage is there to protect you. It is required in every state except New Hampshire.

No-Fault – No-fault coverage pays you and your passenger for medical costs caused by injuries sustained from a car accident, regardless of who’s fault it is.

Collision Insurance – Collision insurance pays for damages caused to your vehicle in an accident. Standard collision coverage will pay for damaged up to fair market value of your vehicle. Collision coverage usually comes with a deductible, which is the amount of money you pay toward repairs before your insurance kicks in. The higher the deductible the lower the cost of coverage will be.

Comprehensive Coverage – Comprehensive Insurance covers all damages done to your car that isn’t from a collision. It protects you against factors such as vandalism, theft, flood, hurricane, fire, and so on. Like collision it will pay up to fair market value of your vehicle.
